What is Trexoma® (Methotrexate) used for?
Methotrexate is a well-established therapy used to treat a range of conditions, including:
Rheumatoid arthritis
Psoriasis
Certain types of cancer, such as leukemia and lymphoma
Other autoimmune and inflammatory diseases
In addition to its approved uses, methotrexate is also prescribed off-label for pulmonary sarcoidosis. While prednisone remains the standard first-line treatment, the recent PREDMETH trial suggests that methotrexate—traditionally considered a second-line agent—may be a viable first-line alternative, with comparable efficacy and a more favorable long-term safety profile.
